Excellent performances were recorded at the international meeting (Continental tour, Bronze) Filothei Women Gala.
At the pole vault competition, the Olympic champion Katerina Stefanidi starred with 4.64m, showing great consistency. She also tried 4.74m, so she can have the world lead, but she had three false attempts. At the second place was the French Ninon Chapele with 4.44m and the British Molly Caudery (4.39m) was third.
At the long jump competition, the Romanian champion Alina Rotaru Kottman was the winner with a great mark of 6.63m (1.2) while Spyridoula Karydi, the national triple jump champion, was second with 6.54m (0.9) which is her new SB. The Cypriot Filippa Fotopoulou with 6.53m (-1.2) was at the third place.
At the high jump competition, Marija Vukovic from Montenegro was the winner with 1.95m, equaling her PB. The rising star from Serbia, Angelina Topic, set a new PB with 1.95m (and a new national U20 record) while she was very close to overcome 1.97m and set a new world U18 best. At the third place was the impressive Eleftheria Christogeorgou, who exceeded 1.93m and greatly improved her PB which was was 1.87m.
At the 100m hurdles, Elisavet Pesiridou was the winner of the race as with 13.33 (0.0) and an new SB while the Brazilian Ketiley Batista finished second with 13.50. With 13.65 the Serbian Ania Lukic was third.
At the 100m race, the fastest of all was the the British sprinter Kristal Awuah with 11.40 (1.1) while the Greek big next thing, Polyniki Emmanouilidou, was really fast and managed to set a new PB )11.44) and she almost broke the national U20 record of Katerina Thanou (11.43). Ariallis Gadulla (Portugal) was third with 11.53.
